Sonia began her career in addiction in 1999 as a frontline alcohol-drug counselor. She worked to complete her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and certification in addiction. She has broad experience working with the criminal justice population in incarceration and community settings. Over the years, she has also provided faculty training and supportive leadership. She has had the opportunity to work with youthful and more mature populations during her career, focusing on both men’s and women’s treatment.She is a Regional Director overseeing seven programs for Amity Foundation.

Sonia began her career in this field in 1999 as a frontline AOD Counselor at the SATF. Starting as a frontline counselor then moving into the Transition department focused on Re-Entry needs and planning. From there moving into supervising in various aspects. She worked to complete her MA in Marriage and Family Therapy as well as seek certification in the AOD field. She has broad experience working with the Criminal Justice population in incarcerated as well as community settings. This includes running a AOD contract program with the prison system, running similar programs in LA and SF county jails, overseeing a grant for violent youthful participates. Over the years she has also provided faculty training and supportive leadership. She has had the opportunity to work with youthful as well as more mature populations during her career focusing on both men’s and women’s treatment. Providing services and Directing in prison AOD programs in the community. Currently serving as a Regional Director overseeing 7 programs for Amity Foundation.
