Raul Frias, a first-generation Mexican who grew up in northeast Los Angeles during a time of rampant drugs, crime, and gang violence. Struggling with addiction for years, Raul felt lost, cycling through various programs without success. His life changed when he entered the Amity Foundation, a therapeutic community focused on moral development and emotional literacy. For the first time, Raul felt seen, supported, and trusted, which allowed him to transform his life.
Through personalized care, Raul not only overcame addiction but also became a CCAPP-certified counselor and regained his role as a parent. Now, with over 13 years of sobriety, Raul serves as Regional Director at Amity, helping others find recovery, just as he did.
