Beth Collinson, PhD, MRes, is the Director of Research and Evaluation at The Phoenix. Her PhD research developed the Asset-Based Community Engagement framework, a systematic approach to linking individuals with essential community resources. This innovative framework has attracted global interest and is being implemented in the UK, USA, Canada, and New Zealand. Before joining The Phoenix, Beth was part of the national evaluation team for England's Fulfilling Lives program. Originally from the UK, Beth relocated to Boston to collaborate more closely with The Phoenix team.

Beth Collinson, PhD, MRes, serves as the Director of Research and Evaluation at The Phoenix, bringing her passion for translating research into effective practice. With experience in community-based drug and alcohol services and prison settings in the UK, Beth recognized the critical role of community and connection in supporting individuals through recovery and mental health challenges. This insight guided her PhD research, during which she developed the Asset-Based Community Engagement framework—a systematic approach to linking individuals with essential community resources. This innovative framework has attracted global interest and is being implemented in the UK, USA, Canada, and New Zealand.
Beth also coordinates an addiction recovery Public and Patient Involvement Panel in the UK, empowering individuals with lived experience to actively shape addiction recovery research. At The Phoenix, she remains committed to conducting research and evaluations collaboratively with community members, ensuring that initiatives are both inclusive and impactful.
Before joining The Phoenix, Beth was part of the national evaluation team for England's Fulfilling Lives program, which addressed complex social issues and enhanced access to comprehensive, tailored services for those facing multiple disadvantages.
Originally from the UK, Beth relocated to Boston to collaborate more closely with The Phoenix team. She finds her own sense of community and connection through CrossFit, often working out alongside fellow Phoenix members.
