🌍 12th Annual Multicultural Conference Etiquette & Rules

Our Multicultural Conference is a space for connection, celebration, and learning. To ensure a safe and respectful environment for all, please honor the following guidelines throughout the event:

      GENERAL CONFERENCE ETIQUETTE
      1. Respect All Cultures and Identities
This is a multicultural and inclusive space. Treat all participants, performers, and speakers with dignity, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, spirituality, or background.
      2. Ask Before Recording or Photographing
Always seek permission before taking photos or videos—especially during sacred ceremonies, Pow Wow dances, or intimate moments of LGBTQIA2+ expression.
      3. Practice Active Listening
Engage fully in workshops, panels, and performances. Refrain from side conversations, and silence your devices during sessions.
      4. Be Mindful of Space
Share physical space respectfully. Make room for elders, people with disabilities, and those needing accommodations.
      5. Use Inclusive Language
Avoid assumptions. Use inclusive pronouns and affirming language when addressing others.
      6. Zero Tolerance for Discrimination or Harassment
Any behavior that is discriminatory, harassing, or disrespectful will not be tolerated. Violators may be asked to leave the event, and NO refund will be given.

      👑 DRAG SHOW EXTRAVAGANZA ETIQUETTE
      1. Celebrate Loudly and Proudly – Respectfully
Cheering, clapping, and snapping are welcome! However, heckling, mocking, or touching performers is strictly prohibited. No hate speech or Hate t-shirts or sweaters or banners
      2. Tip Etiquette
Tipping is allowed, please do so respectfully—hand tips directly to performers or place them in designated areas.
      3. Honor the Art
Drag is a powerful form of expression. Appreciate the performance without reducing it to entertainment or stereotypes.

      🪶 POW WOW ETIQUETTE
      1. Sacred Space Awareness
The Pow Wow is not a performance—it is a spiritual and cultural gathering. Observe with reverence and humility.
      2. Ask Before Participating
If you are not Native American or Two-Spirit and wish to join in a dance or ceremony, ask for guidance first. Some parts of the Pow Wow are open to the public, while others are reserved for specific community members. The Arena Director will let you know when the community can join in dancing
      3. No Photography During Certain Songs or Ceremonies
The MC or cultural guides will announce when photography is not permitted. Always follow these instructions.
      4. Stand and Remove Hats During Honor Songs
When you hear the MC call for an honor song, please stand and remove hats or head coverings (unless for religious or medical reasons) as a sign of respect.
      5. Respect the Drum Circle
Do not touch the drum or enter the drum circle unless invited. It is considered sacred.

      💬 REMEMBER:
This conference is a celebration and an opportunity for reflection, learning, and connection. When in doubt, ask questions respectfully and remain open-hearted.

Thank you for being part of a respectful, joyful, and powerful event. Together, we honor our collective heritage, resilience, and beauty.
