Dr. John W. Herdman is the CEO of HerdmanHealth and Parallels in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Dr. Herdman’s first published book, Global Criteria: The 12 Core Functions of the Substance Abuse Counselor is now in its 8th Edition and is used as a text book in training substance abuse counselors worldwide. He is no stranger to California since he was an adjunct faculty at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles where he assisted with workforce development and taught the supervision course for students there. He has been a frequent presenter to California conferences on a variety of topics. His current efforts are related to making the counselor’s job easier when doing substance abuse assessments. He is CEO of HerdmanHealth which is an intuitive software company that provides a cloud-based assessment process and guides the counselor through completing the assessment and then generates a professional looking narrative in Word format ready for finalizing.
Dr. Herdman received his three college degrees from Penn State University. He retired from the Air Force Reserve in 2000 where he was assigned to Headquarters Air Force at the Pentagon as the Deputy Director of Human Resources Development. He was the Air Force’s consultant for counselor certification and civilian drug testing programs.
