Mothers – The Neglected Population in Treatment – Addressing the issues mothers face in recovery and tools to support them
Up until now mothers have never been considered a ‘special populations’ and many of their unique challenges are not being addressed. In response to these unaddressed needs Rosemary O’Connor wrote “A Sober Mom’s Guide to Recovery. (Hazelden 2015). In this workshop you will learn tips and practices to help the moms you counsel, with a focus on techniques for improving emotional health and overall mental wellbeing. You will gain practical wisdom to apply in your own life as well.
Rosemary O’Connor is an author, a Certified Professional Life Coach, a Certified Addiction Coach, a public speaker, Outreach Manager for Hazelden Betty Ford and has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. With over seventeen years of personal and professional experience she has helped thousands of people recover from addiction via her workshops, private coaching sessions, television interviews, radio, webinars, articles, and blogs. In response to the unaddressed needs mothers have in recovery (and her dream to be a Hazelden author), she wrote A Sober Mom’s Guide to Recovery- Taking Care of Yourself to Take Care of Your Kids (Hazelden 2015.)
